The former cinema Metropol in the city center of Bonn was redeveloped and let to a new use. From now on there is a shopping and entertainment world which includes a book store as well as three residential units and one office unit. In total, the building floor area of 2.800m2 was implemented with a turnkey construction. The historical interior parts of the old cinema were preserved and used for the new design.

The new use of the Metropol cinema was an important step to stimulate the city center of Bonn. The new book store will not only offer a large variety of literature but they will also organize events, readings and cultural activities. The combination of residential and office units ensures a diverse use of the building and makes the location more attractive.

During our structural renovation from 2010 to 2011 we put great emphasis on the preservation of the historic elements of the cinema. Characteristic features of the old building are preserved and are integrated harmoniously in the new utilization concept. This ensure a unique ambience and also contribute to the identity of Bonn city center.
