Rhein-Sieg-Hall in Siegburg / Townhall Siegburg
The Rhein-Sieg-Hall in Siegburg has been extensively extended which includes the demolition, the shell construction as well as the complete extension and the technique of the building as a turnkey performance. Part of the construction were deep measures to meet the requirements of the project. The works took place during the ongoing operation of the hall but the events have not been disturbed.
To start the new construction phase concrete piles were used to ensure a stable basis. The building of the construction pit was secured by a bored pile wall which was nine meters deep and which was also secured with reinforced concrete piles. The elevator shaft was especially challenging because it reached up to six meters underneath the top edge of the ground and was partially in the area of the groundwater. To drain the ground water safely a closed ground water holding system with vacuum lances was installed.
The extension of the hall was implemented along the western façade on property area so far not used in the direction of Bachstraße. Thanks to the careful planning and implementation all construction works could be integrated in the ongoing operation of the Rhein-Sieg-Hall without disturbing any events. This shows the extraordinary professionality and flexibility of our construction company.
